CLANDESTINE LAB AWARENESS
COURSES
CLANDESTINE LAB
AWARENESS FOR FIRST RESPONDERS – 8 HOURS
-
This awareness level course
describes the unique hazards and dangers that face all front
line personnel. Topics include Lab definitions, locations,
indicators, drug characteristics, personnel protective
equipment, community resources, agency roles and
responsibilities, bombs and booby traps. Upon completion of
this course, responders should have the skills necessary to
recognize labs and keep themselves and the public safe. This
is not a certification course. Only certified lab teams from
the appropriate agencies should make entry to this hazardous
materials environment to dismantle and safely mitigate the
site. The responder course is excellent for addressing the
needs of multiple agencies in one session. Delivery is via
PowerPoint multimedia, with short breakout groups. Full mock
lab set up is on display during the course.
CLANDESTINE LAB
AWARENESS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT – 8 HOURS
-
The awareness course for Law
Enforcement covers the same topics as the first responder
course but from a Police focus. Additional topics covered
include: precursors and the manufacturing process, warrant
preparation, dealing with the user, Drug Endangered
Children, investigative assistance and proactive public
education.
CLANDESTINE LAB
AWARENESS FOR FIREFIGHTERS – 8 HOURS
-
Firefighters need specific
information on Labs from a fire ground perspective. Topics
covered include those covered in the First responder course
but emphasis is put on Fire Departments role before and
after the lab is discovered. Chemical hazards,
decontamination, fire attack strategies, and integrated
command structures are also addressed. This course is
suitable for command, suppression, fire prevention, and fire
investigators.
CLANDESTINE LAB
AWARENESS AND CASUALTY MANAGEMENT FOR EMS – 8 HOURS
-
This course is designed to
give paramedics, physicians, nurses and emergency medical
workers an insight into clandestine lab operations. A
synopsis of the first responder course will be given, but
focus will be on risk assessment, hazard mitigation in the
field and hospital, injuries specific to lab environments
and appropriate casualty management in a hazmat environment.
Practical skill stations for both ALS and BLS levels will
allow personnel to experience the unique medical challenges
in a hazmat environment. Due to skill stations class size is
limited to 40 students.
CLANDESTINE LAB
AWARENESS FOR REALTORS, PROPERTY MANAGERS, HOTEL/MOTEL STAFF – 4
HOURS
-
A condensed version or the
first responder course, participant focus will be on lab
indicators, law enforcement liaison, site clean up and

in this seminar.
We will be introducing a new line up of courses
geared towards the specific needs of all who are involved with or

Houses.
The new courses will provide valuable information,

confirmed clan labs. Courses will be geared towards building
inspectors, utility personnel, realtors, insurance adjusters,
engineers, police, fire, paramedics, remediation contractors,
environmental inspectors etc.
Course content will focus on structural defects and
